Your Bio
From childhood (I got my first camera when I was eleven) through adolescence (I was responsible for shooting all but seven photographs in my high school yearbook) to now, cameras have been a part of my life. I’ve owned more cameras than I can honestly recall and anyone who has known me for any amount of time knows I always have one with me. It’s been that way for as long as I can remember.
Although I could never pigeonhole myself as one kind of photographer or another I do think there is a common theme that runs through most, if not all of my images. I want to illustrate and illuminate life around me. Like any visual artist I want to try to get you, the viewer, to the see world through my eyes but as importantly for me I don’t want to alienate you in the process. Perhaps it’s one reason why the vast majority of my work is commercial rather than fine art. I’ve always valued the connection to the viewer more than trying to force them to see (or think like me).
I’ve been published in two international magazines, five national and three regional periodicals. My work has appeared in newspapers in California and here in Lancaster. My images are all over the Internet, billboards, in direct mail advertising and once in awhile on television. I am very proud to be the photographer for the Mayor’s Office Of Special Events in Lancaster and count as clients organizations such as Millersville University, Franklin & Marshall College, the James Street Improvement District as well as such local institutions as WeeBee Audio/Video, Veleska Jewelry and Schwanger Bros.
